At PacifiCord, we rely on the FDA cleared AXP™ processing system-a fully automated and closed system. Studies show that the AXP™ extracts the greatest number of stem cells from any given sample. Thanks to hands-free operation, the system delivers sterile, precise performance-which means more of your stem cells get preserved and without extra contaminants, like excess red blood cells, which are known to cause complication at time of transplant.
Automated, Consistent and Closed System
The FDA cleared AXP™ is an automated and functionally closed system. Manual processing, while acceptable, is not considered optimal because it does not consistently achieve the highest cell recoveries of our automated system.
Precise Cell Separation
Every cord blood sample contains more than just stem cells—for example it also contains red and white blood cells, platelets and plasma. Using a highly advanced system like AXP™, each sample is processed individually and precisely in order to separate precious stem cells from other contents prior to storage.
High Recovery
The goal of cord blood stem cell processing is to extract the maximum number of stem cells from the cord blood sample so that they are preserved without excess contaminants like red blood cells which contain hemoglobin—an element known to cause complication when it comes time for transplant. The AXP™ enables cord blood banks like PacifiCord to achieve consistently high mononuclear cell (MNC) recoveries*.
